Moving the Laban Capron House

In the late 1970s, the Laban Capron House was moved approximately a quarter of a mile uphill to its present location by the Weigel family prior to its restoration.

The house had to cross Pennsylvania state route 547, necessitating a temporary disconnection of the power lines to several properties. Many Harford residents remember the day the house was relocated and a generous neighbor has donated the following photographs of the moving process.
